ABOUT THE ALBUM

From spacey jams to beatnik funk, recording this album the band shifted up another gear achieving stronger production, tighter horns and better arrangements. This album features guest vocalist Hamish Stewart from the Average White Band, the fabulous Vanessa Freeman and UK Latin percussion legend Snowboy. Check out the video made by Scuba Boy for the Japanese single ‘Chance and Fly’.

ABOUT THE ALBUM

This live release exclusive to Japan on P-Vine records captured the Baker Brothers at the end of their 3rd Japanese tour in 2006 playing Club Quattro in Tokyo. It was a great tour and this album holds great memories. The club was packed and we let rip, paaaaaaarp

ABOUT THE ALBUM

Bakers Dozen includes collaborations with UK soul legend Vanessa Freeman and American beat poet Nathan Johnson, it also has a serving of feisty funk instrumentals. This album also dips into Latin flavours with Winding Rhythm, hip hoppy beats on Walk Into My World and an Afro soul sound on Keepin’ Together. Again released in the UK on Peddler here and P-Vine Japan.

ABOUT THE ALBUM

This live album was recorded at the Jazz Café in Camden in Oct 2004. We wanted to capture the atmosphere of that early period, the songs evolved so much between the studio and the stage. This is the Baker Brothers captured raw during the era when we really tightened up our act. This album features guest horn section ‘Hornication’ they certainly helped to culture the filthy sound we love! Originally released from our own ‘Peddler Records’ it did ok in the UK but sky rocketed in Japan!

ABOUT THE ALBUM

First release in 2003 on Bournemouth based ARSE records this album got very positive feedback from mags such as Straight No Chaser, Big Daddy, Grand Slam and Witches Brew. It is completely instrumental and has the raw, punky rock sound that kick started the sound of The Baker Brothers. This was also released on P-Vine Japan. Our early 7” records from 01/02 were also put out on ARSE records and you can buy them all here.
